The Honorable Ernest E. Morris, Jr.

In 2019, the Honorable Ernest E. Morris, Jr. was appointed to serve a four-year term in the Magistrate Division of the Superior Court by then Presiding Judge Michael C. Dunston.   He was born and raised on the island of St. Croix where he graduated from St. Joseph High School as valedictorian in 1996.  In 2000, he graduated from Yale University with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Spanish.  In 2005, he earned a Juris Doctor degree at Howard University School of Law.  Upon completion of law school, he returned home to the Virgin Islands where he worked as a Judicial Law Clerk at the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands for the Honorable Edgar D. Ross and the Honorable Julio A. Brady, and as an Appellate Law Clerk for the Honorable Maria M. Cabret at the Supreme Court of the Virgin Islands.  He became a member of the Virgin Islands Bar Association in 2006.  Prior to his appointment as Magistrate Judge, he worked as a Territorial Public Defender, Assistant Legal Counsel of the Legislature of the Virgin Islands, Corporate Counsel for Viya, manager of the Morris Legal Group, and Chief Legal Counsel of the Legislature of the Virgin Islands.

The Honorable Yolan Brow Ross

Brown-RossThe Honorable Yolan Brow-Ross was appointed to serve a 4-year term as Magistrate Judge of the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands in the Judicial District of St. Croix by the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, the Honorable Harold W.L. Willocks on January 20, 2022. Magistrate Brow-Ross is a graduate of Duke University where she obtained a B.A. in Sociology and Computer Science in 1995. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Tulane University in 1998 and is admitted to the practice of law in the Virgin Islands, the District Court of the Virgin Islands and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Her practice experience includes 6 years of combined private practice in the Virgin Islands with Law Office of Yvette D. Ross-Edwards, and Law Offices of Hunter, Cole & Bennet. Prior to her selection as a Magistrate Judge, she served over 10 years as a Public Defender in the Office of the Territorial Public Defender.
