Rule 6. Stenographic record of proceedings

At the request of any party to a proceeding before the Court or upon the request of the judge of the Court, the reporter-secretary shall record the testimony and proceedings, prepare a transcript thereof, attach to the transcript his official certificate, and deliver the same to the party or judge making the request. He shall also promptly deliver to the clerk for the record of the Court a certified copy of any transcript so made. The reporter may charge and collect fees for transcripts requested by the parties, excluding the Territorial Court and the Government of the Virgin Islands, at rates prescribed by the Territorial Court.--Amended May 28, 1957; Oct. 14, 1994, eff. Statutory References

Reporter-secretary. Former section 79 of Title 5 of the Virgin Islands Code provided for appointment of court reporters who would also serve as secretaries to the judges. The present statute governing appointment of court reporters, section 86 of Title 5, does not provide that they shall also serve as secretaries.
