
Rule 109. Judgment in lieu of penalty
In adult causes, the gravamen of which involves an offense affecting children, the family division of the court shall have power to make such judgment or order as will protect the interests or welfare of the child in any particular case in lieu of imposing the penalties prescribed by law for the offense charged.--Amended Oct. 14, 1994, eff. Explanatory Notes
Change of name of juvenile and domestic relations division. Act Sept. 24, 1983, No. 4855, ' 1, Sess. L. 1983, p. 138, repealed former Chapter 11 of Title 4 of the Virgin Islands Code, which established the juvenile and domestic relations division, and added a new Chapter 11, relating to the family division.
