The Honorable Paula D. Norkaitis

Norkaitis was sworn in on Monday, December 5, 2021 to serve a 4-year term as Magistrate Judge of the Superior Court by the Honorable Kathleen Mackay, Administrative Judge of the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands.  The Honorable Paula D. Norkaitis attained her Bachelor of Arts Degree (Magna Cum Laude) from Duke University on May 10, 1981, and her Juris Doctor from George Washington University, The National Law Center,  on May 19, 1985.  She was admitted to practice law at the Supreme Court of the Virgin Islands and the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands on August of 1997, the Third Circuit of Appeals on November 28, 2011, District Court of the US Virgin Islands in August of 1997, New York Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania on December of 1996. The Honorable Norkaitis is fluent in Spanish and French,  is a seasoned trial attorney and litigator who has been practicing law for over 36 years. 



The Honorable Simone VanHolten-Turnbull

The Honorable Simone Van Holten-Turnbull was appointed to serve a 4-year term aMagistrate Judge of the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands in the Judicial District of St. Thomas by the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, the Honorable Harold W.L. Willocks on January 20, 2022. Magistrate Judge Van Holten-Turnbull is a graduate of Hampton University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 1990. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida's Levin School of Law in 1993. After Law school, she clerked for the Honorable Ive A. Swan at the then Territorial Court of the Virgin Islands. Magistrate Van Holten-Turnbull is admitted to the practice of law in the United States Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia since 2001. Her practice experience includes service as an Assistant Legal Counsel in the Legislature of the Virgin Islands, 7 1/2 years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Virgin Islands Department of Justice, and more than 10 years as a Territorial Public Defender where she ascended to Deputy Chief in 2016.
