Documents Needed to Support a Probate Petition

The following documents are needed to support a Probate Petition:

• The certified death certificate of the decedent, bearing a raised seal.
• Proof of the decedent's ownership of property.
• The original will. If the decedent died testate, an evidentiary hearing will be scheduled to determine the validity of a copy of the will.
• An authenticated will and record of cover proceeding in an ancillary probate.
